Bastrop Food Pantry Fundraising Events
Empty Bowl Project
Empty Bowl is a
grassroots movement sponsored by food banks, artists, local and corporate
businesses throughout America to raise money and awareness in an effort to
end hunger and food insecurity. Each group that participates in the Empty
Bowl (www.emptybowls.net) project
works with their community to create their own event.
Bastrop’s Empty Bowl is a partnership between the Bastrop
County Emergency Food Pantry & Support Center (BCEFP),
Bastrop Independent School District (BISD), restaurants throughout
Bastrop County and local artists. Highlights include live
music, a silent auction and celebrity soup judges. Proceeds
from this popular and heartwarming event support BCEFP’s
services.

June is National Hunger Awareness Month
Right now, more than 36 million Americans aren't even sure where they will get their next meal. Imagine not knowing how or where, or even when, you will eat again.
National Hunger Awareness Month is a grassroots movement to raise awareness about the problem of hunger in America through various activities and educational programs that take place in communities across the nation.
The Bastrop County Emergency Food Pantry & Support Center appreciates all the creative ways food and financial donations are obtained to support our own community. Please contact us for, or with, ideas to help feed the people.

We "can" end hunger!
Annual Gala
The Annual Gala is a themed event held every August to raise funds for The Bastrop County Emergency Food Pantry & Support Center. Enjoy an evening of dance and merriment, a sumptuous sit-down dinner, refreshments, live musical entertainment and ever-growing auctions.
Our 2009 Giving Green Gala: Growing a sustainable community was held on August 22 in conjunction with the Bluebonnet Electric Co-Op Open House. The theme this year reflected our expansion plans which includes our own fresh vegetables community garden in addition to environmentally friendly buildings and stepped up procedures such as recycling and using natural cleaning supplies.
