Things you can do to help

There are many ways that you can help us feed the families of Bastrop County.  The right sidebar shows some of the creative ways businesses and people, even children, have chosen to help.

Donations of non-perishable, canned and dried goods are needed year 'round and are always welcome at the Bastrop County Emergency Food Pantry. Some suggested, favorite items are listed below.  We provide care packages to senior citizens and disabled individuals once every month and to families in crises daily.  Food is accepted at our Bastrop location Monday through Friday, 8:00 to 3:00 or inquire about our special pickups. See the Contact sheet for address, directions, phone numbers. Some always needed items are listed below.

Something most people are unaware of is that 0.13 cents buys one pound of food at the Capital Area Food Bank. So, donation dollars allow the Food Pantry to purchase healthy, nutritious foods for our clients at a fraction of the cost of foods purchased at local grocery stores. Therefore, cash donations actually reach farther to feed more people. Please consider this when you are contemplating your donation decision. All donations are fully tax deductible.

You may donate via our PayPal account using your account or a credit card. Just click on the PayPal link under the navigation buttons on any of our pages. It will take you to a secure page at PayPal set up to accept donations for us.

Send check or money order to the address printed below or on our contact page.

Become a Sacrificial Few member and spread the donation of your choice through the year in regular monthly payments.

Participate in our food/fundraising events: Hunger Awareness Month, Annual Gala, Empty Bowl Project, Holiday Giving Camp.

Help us in other areas of need: Supplies for "Gear Up" for School, Holiday Giving.

Finally, we need volunteers, lots of them. To pick up, sort, pack and deliver food, fans, serve at the Soup Kitchen, Fresh Food For Families and other tasks.

The whole community is our neighbor, lend a hand and help feed your fellow man.

Please help.  Contact us for more information on any of these programs.
