Painting with a Twist

Longtime Food Pantry boosters Chris and Sharon Duggan found great delight in last year’s “Painting with a Twist”…while tapping creativity energies and crafting family “heirlooms”.

Thank you for having fun and painting bowls for the 2017 Empty Bowl Project.

Let your imagination run and try your hand at decorating a ceramic bowl!    In a run-up to its annual Empty Bowl fundraiser, the Bastrop Emergency Food Pantry is hosting a “Painting with a Twist” bowl painting class on Feb. 4, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Van Gogh & Paint, 717 Chestnut St. (Loop 150) in central Bastrop.

Led by a local ceramics artist Allyson Augustine, the class will provide you some design hints, teach the ins and outs of colors and glazes, and help you call forth your “inner Van Gogh”.    The class will cost $20 per participant and will generate decorated bowls for the Feb. 25 annual Empty Bowl fundraiser at Bastrop High School OR, for an additional $20, participants will be able to keep their glazed/fired bowl and will receive a ticket—in itself a $20 value—for the end-of-February Empty Bowl event.

Class size is limited; Jan. 31 is the deadline for the Feb. 4 class.   You may reserve your place and pay for your ticket by clicking the appropriate link below or by dropping the Food Pantry office, 806 Fayette St., south of Pine.
