Fresh Foods for Families

THERE WILL BE NO FRESH FOODS IN MARCH.

“Fresh Food for Families”, offered in partnership with the Capital Area Food Bank, provides fresh vegetables, fruit and bread on a first-come, first-served basis to anyone who arrives between 9 and 10 am on the third Friday of each month.

Eligibility: This program is open to all residences.

Program Fees: None

Documents Required:

  • First time visitors will need a proof of identification (a photo ID such as driver’s license or student or work identification), and  proof of Bastrop County residency to receive a scan card.

To get to the Food Pantry office:

From the intersection of TX 95 and TX 21 E: proceed west on Chestnut Street (Loop 150) toward downtown Bastrop. At the first cross street after the railroad tracks (Haysel), turn left and proceed one block to the intersection of Haysel and Pine Streets. Turn left onto Pine Street and proceed to the next cross street, just before the railroad tracks (Fayette Street). Turn right to the Food Pantry office on your right, in the middle of the block.

From the west, exit HWY 71 from Austin: take the Loop 150 exit, proceed on the service road to the second light (Loop 150/Chestnut), turn left under HWY 71 onto Loop 150 (Chestnut) and proceed in a northeast direction, through old downtown Bastrop, to the last cross street before railroad tracks (Haysel). Turn right onto Haysel and proceed one block to the intersection of Haysel and Pine Streets. Turn left onto Pine Street and proceed to the next cross street, just before the railroad tracks (Fayette Street). Turn right to the Food Pantry office on your right, in the middle of the block.
