The Bastrop County Emergency Food Pantry hosted the first annual Senior Health & Wellness Fair on August 18, 2016. Several agencies who serve the needs of the older and disabled populations were represented at the Fair: AGE of Central Texas, Bastrop YMCA, Combined Community Action/Meals On Wheels, Alzheimer’s Association – Capital Area Chapter, and Central Texas Food Bank/Nutrition Program. That day 80 Brown Bag clients had opportunity to visit the agency tables to speak with representatives and receive valuable information. Despite the unexpected rain, the event was well attended and a great success for the first effort.
