Tonda Owens

Tonda is a true believer that “It takes a village….” And has spent more than 20 years acting on that premise in the field of social work, working with children and families.   She serves as the Social Services Program Administrator at Palm Square Community Center, in Travis County. She holds a master's degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin and a Criminal Justice degree from Texas State University.  A resident of Bastrop County since 2002, Tonda was tapped six years ago to fill the position left vacant by the retirement of Food Pantry founder Jewel Hodges.   She subsequently has held the office of Board Secretary and currently serves as Board President.
